Opus 6 Series explained.
At the heart of the 6 Series is the new MCU610 master control unit. Providing entertainment to six zones plus six sub-zones, this impressive hub is controlled by Opus touchscreens, iPhones or other devices such as Pronto.
In addition, the MCU610 enables seamless integration of third party smart home technologies such as lighting, HVAC, security and entertainment systems like Apple TV, media servers and more. This enables Opus installers to add additional value and offers end-users a fully integrated interface. And for the largest residential installations, adding additional MCUs allows Opus to serve up to 36 rooms.
Such capability can often lead to increased complexity for the installer but not in this case. Opus developed the MCU610 with its partners in mind and both installation and set-up are extremely straight forward.
And finally, end users also benefit from the MCU610’s extremely low running costs. Like all new Opus 6 Series products it consumes less than one Watt in standby mode.
High definition video comes to life
Offering full high definition video output to eight HD TV screens anywhere in the home, the VMX610 High Definition Video Matrix delivers the ultimate in picture quality to homes of any size from a single box.
Combining a wealth of connectivity with surprising ease of set-up via simple laptop software, the VMX610 is able to take high-resolution signals from four HDMI sources plus four composite signals and output them through eight HDMI ports. Installers are set to be amazed by the speedy and reliable HDMI switching and the single cable connectivity available for the TVs in each zone.
The VMX610 even has the flexibility to send a high definition signal to a TV in a room without an Opus keypad, giving you IR or iPhone control of the Opus system instead.
Bigger and better touchscreens
New full colour touchscreen wall control panels combine the latest Opus software with a fresh new look for even more intuitive set-up and operation. Now featuring an integrated microphone for expanded intercom and security applications, the upgraded 3.5” control is joined by an all new 5.7” touchscreen offering even greater flexibility.
These elegant and customisable panels can be easily programmed through a hidden USB port to control not only the Opus entertainment system, but lighting, air conditioning, CCTV, media servers, Apple TV and much more too.
Upgraded cabling options
The 6 Series maintains the same simple single wire solution that’s made Opus the developer’s choice, but a new generation Balanced Transmission Cable (BTC2) enables video feeds to be sent directly to Opus touchscreens.
